1963年公開の映画『マタンゴ』で観客を震え上がらせた怪物に、独自の解釈を交えソフビ化した本作。
全体を玩具らしいバランスに整えつつも、傘のように膨れ上がった頭部や柄が密集したかのようなキノコ由来のディテールをキッチリと造形。
ベージュを基調とした生々しいカラーリングはもちろん、顔面に元人間であることを示す瞳を配した遊び心に注目してほしい。
大胆なアレンジと繊細な彫刻が見事に融合した稀有な仕上がりの一品だ!
